Memtime (formerly timeBro) has been around for 10+ years and is used by thousands of teams daily. From day 1, our area of expertise has been automatic time tracking that’s safe and private for everyone. Once you subscribe, you’ll see that we regularly update the product and release improvements, integrations, and new features inspired by user requests and industry trends.
Memtime is famous for its proprietary Memory Aid™, a responsive activity timeline that chronologically displays your day and helps you remember what you worked on in detail, with full URLs and file paths. You can zoom in/out on your timeline and see it in 1-60 minute intervals, including 3- and 6-minute increments commonly used by tax consultants and lawyers. Memtime also has the highest number of 2-way sync integrations with project software (100+ tools), 5 compatible calendars, and phone call system integrations.
Automatic computer activity tracking with Memtime is extremely accurate because it follows your keyboard and mouse movement in real time as you multitask. Every second of your work in programs is recorded, which is impossible with manual time tracking.
Memtime works on a recurring subscription model that renews every quarter, year, or 2 years depending on your contract. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your Customer Portal > Manage account > Cancel subscription.
You can manage or cancel your Memtime subscription in your Customer Portal at any point in the billing cycle to prevent future charges. You don’t need to reach out to support or provide an explanation — simply log into your Customer Portal > Manage account > Cancel subscription in 1 click.
All Memtime plans include unlimited automatic time tracking. Memtime Basic is perfect for freelancers who want to recover every billable minute and log time into their local timesheet. Memtime Connect is designed for teams and includes 100+ integrations with project software with 2-way sync of time entries. Memtime Premium and Enterprise are great for law firms and tax consultancies that need call system integrations, SSO, and priority support.
Memtime’s 14-day free trial comes with unlimited time tracking, all features and integrations included (Premium plan equivalent). We don’t ask for your credit card information or even your business email. We also don’t auto-charge you once your free trial is over; you have to start a recurring subscription yourself.
Yes, Memtime is compatible with devices running Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can grab your installer in the Customer Portal after you’ve created an account.
No, Memtime app doesn’t upload your activity tracking data to the cloud. Your recorded activities remain offline on your Windows, macOS, or Linux device. You can export time entries that you created yourself; in this case they will be synced into your connected project software (requires Memtime Connect and above).
Yes, Memtime allows you to create time entry suggestion rules to speed up hour logging. For example, whenever a specific URL or sender name is detected, Memtime will suggest a time entry for the duration of this activity. You can accept or reject suggestions; Memtime will never log any billable time without your approval. You can learn more about time entry automation here.
Time entries in Memtime can be exported as local files (Excel, CSV, PDF) or directly synced into projects. You can create projects in Memtime or import from your project software (requires Memtime Connect and above) – either way, as soon as you assign a time entry to a project or task it will appear there immediately and in the right place.
Yes, you can revisit your past time entries and edit their duration, start and end times, descriptions, as well as clients and projects they’re assigned to. Please note that you can NOT edit time entries for others. Memtime displays your own activities only and keeps them strictly offline on each user’s computer.
Memtime’s customer success team responds within a day. They are fluent in English, German, and Spanish, so you can submit your tickets in any of these languages.
Memtime is closed-source software you can download directly from the developer. Per your request, Memtime can be integrated with any software with an open API so don’t hesitate to reach out to our team to enquire about a custom integration.
Memtime rebranded from timeBro back in 2023 in favor of a more inclusive name that communicates what Memtime actually does — it Memorizes time for you. Our values and mission have remained the same, which is to save the effort you spend on time tracking while protecting your privacy.
Privacy has always been the core idea behind Memtime. Unlike every other automatic time tracker, Memtime doesn’t have a web dashboard so it doesn’t need to sync your activity data into the cloud all the time. You can be sure your tracked activities remain offline on your computer forever — this is our privacy guarantee to you.
Yes, in addition to the General Data Protection Regulation, Memtime adheres to the Act of Protection against Misuse of Personal Data Processing (BDSG) which applies in Germany where Memtime is based.
We won’t auto-charge you at the end of your free trial unless you start a subscription yourself. From there, your recurring subscription automatically renews after each billing cycle (quarterly, annually or 2-yearly). You can cancel your subscription and stop all future charges from the Customer Portal.
Like all recurring subscriptions, Memtime renews automatically after each billing cycle (quarterly, annually or 2-yearly). Please note that as long as your subscription is not cancelled, you will be charged automatically at the start of a new billing cycle. If the payment fails, for example, due to an expired credit card or exceeding the limit, the claim remains valid. We send a total of 4 payment reminders over a period of 60 days. After that, any credit card debt accumulated is automatically passed on from our payment provider to a debt collection agency. This means: 1. Please do not ignore these payment requests, as this will only cause them to accumulate. 2. Please cancel your Memtime subscription as soon as you decide that you no longer wish to use it, as it's not paid per use, but paid for a billing period. You can cancel at any time with just one click from your Customer Portal > Manage account > Cancel subscription.
